Yukichichibu Onsen
One of the rarest onsen types in Japan, located deep in the mountains behind Niseko near Rankoshi town. Features rich pure sulfur water and associated mineral mud (mixing of grey clay and thermal mud) found in only a handful of locations in Japan. Over 10 outdoor hot spring baths, plus a famous mud bath in the female section. Hours: 10:00 am–9:00 pm (last entry 8:00 pm). Cash only. Not tattoo-friendly. About 30 minutes by car from Hirafu.
